CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
while my foundation is bhakti vinyasa yoga, i interweave non-traditional movements and modalities into most of my offerings. i incorporate somatic, subtle body work, strength training, and meditation in most of my classes. yoga asana, while physical, is intended to support the training of the mind.
BHAKTI FLOW
an invigorating vinyasa practice, grounded in philosophy, supported by dynamic music, without losing sight of alignment or intention. bookended with pranayama, chanting, and meditation, and infused with the devotion that is the foundation of bhakti yoga, this class invites you to step into the fire of the practice.
practitioners with all levels of experience are welcome here; however, this class is best suited for those who are familiar with common yoga postures and alignment or have some practice of body awareness.
expect to strengthen your core, open your heart, and offer up whatever is no longer serving you.
POWER FLOW
this athletic, somatic, breath-based class draws upon many modalities, including vinyasa yoga, strength training, cardio and plyometrics, movements soothing for the nervous system, releasing and expressing, and meditation, and the journey is supported and enhanced by a dynamic soundtrack. the intention of this practice is to guide you into a state of emotional/mental/spiritual alignment. physical alignment cues, while offered, are not the focus of this class, so awareness of your current physical boundaries is recommended. a strong physical ability is helpful; however, courage and curiosity will take you further.
while this class is not for the faint of heart, you can’t do it wrong. modifications are available, and you can benefit from participating at whatever level feels good to you.
ALIGN + FLOW
a combination of moderately paced sequencing with longer held asana (postures), transitioning in and out of a more focused ‘workshop’ mode, in order to break down mechanics of select asana.
in this class, along with an underlying foundation of pranayama (focused breath work), expect an emphasis on fundamental alignment principles, and assistance in adapting or modifying the asana for your body. expect to develop self awareness through functional movements, build core strength, and work on the fascia and connective tissues.
this is a moderate class for all levels, from adventurous beginners to more experienced practitioners, who want to strengthen and refine their asana practice.
have you been in class with me recently? i’d love to hear from you!
